Dreambert and Bedsmith, two creatures from the Pi’illo species, wake up one morning with no memory of who they are, where they are, or how they arrived. They find themselves in a strange house in an unfamiliar town, feeling lost and confused. Just as panic sets in, a peculiar man named Wonky appears, claiming to be their father. He suggests they must have passed out while watching TV the previous night, but before he can explain more, the situation grows even stranger. A creature named Starlow, from the Star Sprite species, arrives, insisting she’s a friend of theirs. She says they had plans to hang out, but Dreambert and Bedsmith have no memory of her or any such plans. Reluctantly, they follow Starlow outside, unsure of their surroundings. They wander through the town, acting as if they don’t recognize either the environment or Starlow. Despite their confusion, Starlow continues interacting with them as though they’ve been friends for a long time. As she shows them around, Starlow patiently explains their supposed friendship and their names, trying to reassure them. Dreambert and Bedsmith, however, remain disoriented and unable to make sense of their past or connection to Starlow. As the day continues, Starlow grows more concerned, initially thinking they’re just pretending to forget. But as their odd behavior persists, she begins to worry that something is seriously wrong with their memories. By the end of the day, Starlow’s uncertainty deepens, and she wonders if there’s something more behind their forgetfulness. Dreambert and Bedsmith are sent back to the house where they first woke up, and Wonky-still claiming to be their father-provides them with a bed that feels unfamiliar. Too tired and confused to protest, they settle in for the night. As they fall asleep, their minds are filled with questions about their identities, their past, and the cause of their sudden amnesia. The mystery of their lost memories looms unanswered as they drift into an uneasy sleep, uncertain of what the future holds.
